It looked like Manchester United were heading for a 1-0 win against AC Milan in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 tie, only for Simon Kjaer to crop up with an added time equaliser. As a result, it ended 1-1 on the night with both sides having all to play for when they meet at the San Siro in the second leg.
Perhaps a draw was the fair result. AC Milan had started brilliantly and even had a goal ruled out by VAR early on.
The Red Devils started the second half strong though and got the opener through a brilliant header from Amad, who had just come on. They also had chances to finish off the game but failed to capitalise on them.
A header from Kjaer deep into the game made it 1-1 and that’s how it ended on the night. Paul Scholes believes that the effort should have been saved by Dean Henderson though. As reported by Express, the Manchester United legend said on BT Sport:
"“I think he’s trying to make it a little bit more difficult than it should be.“First and foremost keep the ball out of the net. He should save that, there’s no doubt about it, he’ll know that.”"

Manchester United will be disappointed with the manner in which they conceded
While a draw might have been a fair result, the Manchester United players would have been disappointed with the manner in which they conceded.
With minutes trickling away, they just needed to see things out. But Kjaer was left free in the box from a corner, and while Henderson managed to get his hand to the header, he failed to keep it out of the net.
Could the goalkeeper have done better? Possibly.
The focus should turn towards the second leg now. United have been terrific in away games this season and they should be confident of their chances going into the game. But the fact that AC Milan got a goal tonight means that the Red Devils will have to score in that match if they are to go through, as a goalless draw won’t be enough.
