Manchester United could be tempted to make a move for a new striker in the upcoming summer transfer window. After a 23-goal season, Anthony Martial has struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis this time around. While Edinson Cavani is a great option to have, he is 34 years of age and not a long-term solution.
Names like Erling Haaland and Andre Silva have been linked with the club in recent weeks. But someone who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for years now is Harry Kane.
The English international has been brilliant for Tottenham Hotspur over the years, scoring 210 goals in 322 appearances for them. But that has not brought him any silverware through the course of his career. Now 27 years of age and entering his prime, it might be his last chance to make a big move.
Of course, his club are not eager to let him go though and will be looking for an incredible £150 million transfer fee for his services as reported by the Daily Mail, which might put United off from making a move.

Manchester United are wary of the £150 million transfer fee
£150 million is a huge transfer fee, especially in the current financial climate. Thus, it would make sense for the Red Devils to look at a different option.
On top of everything else, Kane’s contract with Tottenham Hotspur will run out in the summer of 2024. As a result, they won’t be under any pressure to let him leave anytime in the immediate future and there is not going to be a lot of room for negotiation.
Now, there is no doubt that Kane would be a terrific striker for Manchester United. He has proven himself in the Premier League season after season and is easily one of the best in the world in his position. But unfortunately, bringing him to Old Trafford might be a dream that never comes true.
