Manchester United have put in better performances in the league this season than most would have expected at the start of the campaign. The improvement in the side has been clear to see and as a result, they find themselves sitting at second in the Premier League table.
And while many could say that those around them have not done very well this season, it is hard to deny that the Red Devils have some top quality players in their squad, who have delivered when the situation called for it.
To be very honest, there have been very few games in which they have been spectacular. But they do have the habit of squeezing out results even when they are not playing particularly well, which is an incredible quality to have.
Pep Guardiola clearly admires a lot of the players in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, and even reserved some special mention for Edinson Cavani. Speaking ahead of the Manchester Derby, as reported by the Mirror, the manager said:
"“The experience of Cavani, a player I admire the most for what he’s done with his career.”"

Manchester United need to beat Pep Guardiola’s side
At this point of time, Guardiola’s side sit at the top of the Premier League table with a comfortable 14 point lead, with just 11 games left to be played this season.
As a result, United will need to come out with a win against The Citizens if they want to keep their Premier League hopes alive. Otherwise, it could soon turn into a battle for a top four spot for them instead of the title.
Thus, Sunday’s game might very well be the most important of the Red Devils’ season. A win would see them cut down City’s lead to 11 points. On the other hand, a defeat would see them fall 17 points behind them and the title race would be as good as over. A draw would be seen as an opportunity missed. Clearly, a lot is riding on this game.
