Manchester United made a spectacular start to the Premier League season, even reaching the top of the table at one point. It is safe to say that things have fallen a bit flat since then though.

After a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace last night, which was also their third straight goalless draw, the Red Devils find themselves 14 points behind Manchester City in the league table with only 11 games left to be played. And if they do not win the Derby against Pep Guardiola’s side next Sunday, the title race might be as good as over.

At this important stage, the club have been handed another blow. As reported by Metro, David de Gea is set to miss the next six games due to ‘personal reasons’ and it means Dean Henderson will get a run of games in goal in place of the Spaniard.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Henderson was told to be prepared for the possibility of starting the club’s next six games before the draw against Crystal Palace. And according to the Daily Mail, De Gea has returned to Spain to be with his partner Edurne, as they are expecting their first child.

Henderson will get a run of games in the Manchester United first-team

After returning to Old Trafford after a spectacular loan spell with Sheffield United, Henderson has found opportunities to come up as he has largely played the understudy to De Gea till now. As a result, there are fears that he could be looking to leave the club at the end of the season.

This potential run of games provides him the opportunity to prove though that he is good enough to be starting on a regular basis for Manchester United.

Recently, problems on the pitch, have been on the other end of the pitch though. The Red Devils’ attack has failed to find the back of the net for three straight games now, which should concern Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

To be honest, they have not looked like the same side offensively ever since Paul Pogba’s injury against Everton. And unfortunately, the Frenchman is expected to be out of action for a few more weeks.
