Manchester United made a stunning start to their Premier League season which saw them reach the top of the table but things have fallen a bit flat over the past couple of months. As a result, they now find themselves 12 points behind Manchester City.
Yet, there is a great chance that they will finish the season in the top four and could possibly make another title charge, depending on whether Pep Guardiola’s side slip up or not.
However this season ends, the most important things right now is to continue to improve from here and establish themselves as regular Premier League challengers moving forward, a position they have not held for a while now.
And while the Red Devils will be expecting to sign more players in the upcoming summer transfer window, it will be important to hold on to the ones that they already. In the eyes of Gary Neville, Daniel James is one such player that the club must not let go. While doing commentary on Sky Sports and as reported by HITC, the Manchester United legend said:
"“I think Dan James should stay at Manchester United for Manchester United’s purposes.“Is he a player you would want to start every week? No. But you do need players of that quality to come in off the bench and obviously cause a problem for other teams. He’s quick. He does get a goal. A fifth, sixth forward. He’s good for Man Utd. They will do well to find better.”"

James has managed to find his way back into the Manchester United team in recent weeks
After a brilliant start to his career at Old Trafford, the Wales international has fallen down the pecking order and has found hard to come by this season. But over the past few weeks, he has shown that he can still contribute to this team and given Solskjaer something to think about. Now, the manager will have to make a decision.
James has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months, with Leeds United reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
But you have to feel like he still has a lot to offer the club, especially in the absence of a top quality right winger in the squad at this point of time. Thus, it might be the best idea to hold on to James for the time being. Yes, he might not be a regular starter for the Red Devils but is a great option to have on the bench.
