Manchester United are expected to look for a new centre-back in the summer after the position has emerged as an area of weakness over the course of the season. In this regard, a number of defenders have been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
Sergio Ramos’ contract with Real Madrid is running out and the Red Devils could make a move for him. Jules Kounde has emerged as a star for Sevilla as well over the past couple of seasons. One name that has been linked with the club for years though is that of Nikola Milenkovic.
Rumours linking him with a move to Old Trafford first emerged when Jose Mourinho was the manager of the club. And with only a little over a year left on his contract at Fiorentina, this might be when he finally signs for Manchester United.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via The Sun), the defender seems open to the idea of a move and might make a push if an offer comes in for him from the Red Devils.

Milenkovic could be a hit at Manchester United
Although Fiorentina are sitting at 14th in the Serie A table, the Serbian defender has managed to impress and is considered as one of the best centre-backs in Italy at the moment. As a result, it is no surprise that multiple clubs have been linked with him in the recent past.
And with it looking likely that he might be about to move in the summer, there might be a bidding war for his services between the interested clubs.
While he is believed to be available for £30 million, which is a bargain for a player of his quality, the bidding war might lead to his transfer value increasing. But even then, United should try to complete a move for the 23-year-old Serbian as he has the ability to solve the club’s problems at the back.
