Andre Silva responds to transfer rumours amid Manchester United links
Andre Silva is certainly a man in form at the moment. In 23 appearance in all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt this season, the Portuguese striker has scored 20 goals and provided 5 assists. That is an involvement in more than a goal a game! Thus, it is not hard to see why clubs are being linked with him and Manchester United appear to be one of them.
The Sun had reported in the past that the Red Devils would have the chance to sign the striker although any move was believed to depend upon the future of Edinson Cavani.
For a striker that has already hit the 20-goal mark this season, his transfer price appears to be set around £30 million, which can be a considered a bargain in modern football. As a result, it would not be a bad idea for United to consider making a move.
As reported by Metro, Silva appears to be focused on Eintract Frankfurt at the time being though and is not getting distracted by the rumours. He said:
"‘I’ve heard rumours, but that is it. Rumours are rumours.‘At the end of this season, it’s something that gives me more motivation to work.‘It’s a sign that what I have accomplished has borne fruit and the path has been good.’"

Silva could be a shrewd signing on the part of Manchester United
Only Robert Lewandowski has scored more goals than Silva in the Bundesliga this season and clearly the striker is doing a lot of things right at the moment. And with Anthony Martial struggling to find the back of the net on a consistent basis this season, the Red Devils could certainly do with a player like him.
That does not mean that he would be a guaranteed hit at Old Trafford though. In recent years, we have seen strikers from the Bundesliga struggling outside of Germany. Timo Werner is one example, who has not found his feet at Chelsea. Thus, any move should come with its fair share of caution.
But at £30 million, one feels that a move for the Portuguese striker could be worth that risk. He is just 25 years of age and has incredible potential. But as mentioned earlier, it appears that any move will depend on whether Cavani remains at Old Trafford beyond this season.
