Shola Shoretire is one of the most highly-rated youngster at Manchester United right now. And after his impressive performances for the club’s youth sides, he was rewarded with his debut for the senior side.

It was a cameo appearance against Newcastle United in the Premier League. At 17 years of age, he became the 7th youngest player to ever do so for the Red Devils.

While he has played mostly on the wings, he is capable of playing in a variety of positions. And there are high hopes that he can one of the club’s future stars for years to come. Hopefully, the debut was just the first step in that direction.

Making their debut is one of the biggest moments in any player’s career. It is a day that they always remember and it is unfortunate that those making it this year cannot have their family and friends in attendance on the occasion. That appears to be the only regret for Shoretire as well. As reported by Manchester Evening News, he said:

"“They’ll have been watching on TV, I’m sure. Hopefully they’re proud and I can’t wait to see them. I’ve worked really hard to get here, I think they should be really proud. I checked my phone before for five minutes and it was going a bit crazy.“It’s nice to see people showing support, my friends from school, family, cousins, everybody – it’s really nice.”"

Manchester United’s future looks very bright

It was just a week ago that Amad, who has been very impressive for the under-23s side, made his debut for the club against Real Sociedad. And it was the turn of Shoretire to follow suit against Newcastle United.

While Amad has scored and assisted thrice each in just 2 appearances for the youth side, Shoretire has 6 goals and 4 assists to his name in 14 appearances in Premier League 2 this season.

Clearly, the club are doing brilliantly at the youth level to bring through these kinds of talents. But that should not come as a surprise. Over the past several years, they have recruited some of the most highly-rated young talents from all over the world with the aim of turning them into Premier League talents in their academy and it looks like it won’t be too long before the club reaps the rewards for their long-term vision.
