Manchester United could sign highly-rated defender for just £15 million
Manchester United will most probably be on the lookout for a new centre-back in the upcoming summer transfer window. As we all know, defence has been one of the weaker areas in this squad this season.
While most fans will be hoping that the club bring in a superstar like Sergio Ramos or Raphael Varane, they could end up making a move for a much youngster option in the form of SC Braga’s David Carmo. And he could be available for just £15 million as reported by Goal, which is a bargain in the modern transfer market to be very honest.
This has been Carmo’s first full-season season as a regular starter at the senior level, with the Portuguese defender making 21 appearances till now. And with Manchester United enjoying brilliant results over the years when it comes to signing players from Portugal, it is a no brainer that they should go after Carmo as well.
The left-footed centre-back will bring something different to this Red Devils squad and provide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with another option to pick from.

Can Carmo be the answer to Manchester United’s problems?
It might be too early to tell how good Carmo can eventually be. While he has been impressive, it is undeniable that he has not been around for too long to give a complete view of his skillsets.
Even then, it does look like Manchester United have been scouting him for quite some time now, with rumours about a potential move first appearing back in November of last year, as reported by Goal.
All things considered, the Red Devils should definitely make a move for him but it might be a bit too much to expect him to come in and solve their defensive issues. At 21 years of age, the Portuguese will probably need a season or two to adjust to the Premier League although he has all the physical attributes to succeed in England. As a result, it might not be a bad idea to bring in a veteran in the summer as well.
