Manchester United have made a brilliant start to their league season. Despite a disappointing set of results over the past several weeks, they still find themselves in second on the Premier League, which is higher than where most fans would have expected them to be at this point of the season, especially after not splashing in the summer transfer window.

It is clear though that there are certain areas in the squad which could do with some reinforcements. One of them is right-wing. For that to happen though, the club might need to move on a few players first.

One of the first names on that shortlist might be that of Daniel James. The youngster joined the club from Swansea City a couple of summers ago and started in red hot form for the Red Devils. But he has faded away since then and can only be considered as a peripheral figure these days.

As a result, the club appear to open to letting him leave on loan in order to free up space in the squad. As reported by the Daily Star, United are preparing to send him away on loan to a ‘Premier League rival’.

Leeds United have been linked with the Manchester United youngster

While no Premier League rival have been named, one club that have been linked with him for quite some time now are Leeds United. James almost signed for them when he was at Swansea City but a move ultimately fell through. Now that he seems to be available, The Peacocks.

Leeds Live had reported back in December that the club were still interested in him although the youngster appeared to prefer a move to Brighton and Hove Albion. And there does not appear to be a lack of suitors for the 23-year-old.

To be honest, James could probably get a job done for a Premier League side. While he has never quite managed to nail down a spot in United’s team, he does have a habit of popping up with goals and has incredible pace to go with it. In the right system, he can be a great player.
