Manchester United needed to put the disappointing results of their past few weeks behind them and put in a solid performances against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
In many ways, this is one of the competitions that the Red Devils should be taking more seriously now, having fallen 10 points behind Manchester City in the Premier League. And it showed in their performance as they stormed to a massive 4-0 victory, almost guaranteeing their route to the next stage.
Once again, it was Bruno Fernandes who played the key role, scoring twice. Marcus Rashford and Daniel James were the two other scorers on the night, in what will be a sweet victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men after a tough couple of weeks.
Now, admittedly Real Sociedad have not been in brilliant form as of late. After starting the season in red hot form and even reaching the top of the La Liga table at one point, they have fizzled out a bit. Coming into the game, they had just four wins from their last ten, drawing and losing three each along the way. But a win is a win, and Manchester United should be happy with the result, having had their own issues recently.

Overall, Manchester United cannot complain about the result. While the entire team did not perform to the best of their ability, they still came out with a 4-0 win, which shows the kind of quality that they have.
Let’s just hope that they can use this as a springboard and start putting together a run of results in the Premier League as well, making a second charge for the title.
