It is no secret that Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs on the planet and as a result, they have millions of fans even outside of the United Kingdom. One of those appears to be Borussia Monchengladbach left-back, Ramy Bensebaini.
The Algerian international has emerged as a star for the Bundesliga side. This season, he has already made 19 appearances for them and has found the back of the net on four occasions.
And now, he is set to take on the Red Devils’ crosstown rivals Manchester City in the Champions League. Although Pep Guardiola’s side are flying high at the moment, they do not have a great record in Europe, which will provide Monchengladbach with a lot of hope heading into the game.
It will be an interesting tie to say the least. And Manchester United fans might have an extra reason to back the Bundesliga side after Bensebaini’s recent admission.
Bensebaini is a Manchester United fan and is open to a move to Old Trafford
While speaking with BBC Afrique (as cited by Fennec Football). Bensebaini revealed that he has been a Manchester United fan since he was little:
"“I have been a fan of Manchester United since I was little.“The Premier League has always attracted me. Everyone knows I’m a United fan.”"

He also revealed that he would be open to the idea of a move to Old Trafford if the opportunity did present itself in the near future:
"“If one day the opportunity presents itself to go forward or to change the climate, I will think about it.”"
While he is doing very well at the moment, it is unlikely that the Red Devils will need a left-back anytime soon considering the depth that they have their at the moment. Luke Shaw has been spectacular this season while Alex Telles is a very able back-up option.
Things change very quickly in football though and if the Algerian international continues to progress like he has, who is to say that we won’t see him donning the legendary jersey of the club that he grew up supporting.
That is a discussion for another day though. At the moment, we can only wish the best of luck for the game against Manchester City and moving forward.
