Solskjaer told to drop Manchester United star for 10-12 games
After a blistering start to the season that saw them reach the top of the Premier League, Manchester United have had to endure some tough results over the past few weeks.
Manchester City now enjoy a 7 point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand as well. Thus, it is safe to say that Pep Guardiola’s side are pretty much in the driver’s seat.
While most of the United players have done very well this season, there are still question marks over the heads of a few of them. One of them is certainly David de Gea. The Spaniard has been the man between the sticks for the Red Devils for almost a decade but his performances have been on a downward spiral over the past few seasons. And it might be time to try someone new.
Jamie Carragher believes that it might be time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to drop De Gea and give a good run of games to Dean Henderson, who has been stuck to the bench ever since returning to Old Trafford. As reported by the Metro, the Liverpool legend said:
"‘If I was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, I would put Dean Henderson in for 10 or 12 games now because they need to find out if he’s Manchester United’s number one for next season.‘If he plays and he’s not good enough, they need to buy a new goalkeeper in the summer.’"

Henderson has not been given a chance at Manchester United
The English goalkeeper had a very impressive loan spell at Sheffield United, where he established himself as one of the best between the sticks in the Premier League but has not been afforded too many chances ever since returning to Old Trafford.
It might be about time that that changes though. It is clear that De Gea is not the keeper that he once was. And although he is young enough to turn things around, his recent performances do not justify him keeping Henderson out of the team.
Now, it might turn out that Henderson is not good enough to be starting for a club the size of Manchester United either. But we can only know that after he has been given a run of games in the first-team.
