Manchester United are considered one of the biggest clubs not only in England but throughout the globe, both financially and structurally. Every player aspires to play under the lights of the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ and feel the atmosphere inside Old Trafford.

Many make their way to the summit having joined the club and a select few of them go down in the history of the club. This has been the way things have gone with this club and will go in the foreseeable future.

However, while talking from the footballing perspective, one would agree that Manchester United have lost the glamorous aura it once used to have during the days of Sir Alex Ferguson. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been trying to pick the pieces and rebuild the club. But he is yet to secure any silverware to show for it.

Attack wins you games, defence wins you titles. Keeping that in mind, Manchester United will go again, in pursuit of a centre-back next summer. And if Solskjaer feels the need for another striker, Partizan Belgrade sporting director Ivica Iliev has one obvious candidate in his mind.

Manchester United should considering making moves for the Fiorentina duo

Speaking to Labaro Viola, Iliev claimed that both Nikola Milenkovic and Dusan Vlahovic, the FK Partizan Belgrade academy graduates, are good enough to ‘easily play’ for elite European clubs, including Manchester United:

"“The two of them are big and will be bigger in the future.“They have the ability to play in many top teams, even if Fiorentina are too.“They could easily play in clubs like Manchester United, Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.“I don’t know when the right time will be for them to leave. Vlahovic still needs some time, but Milenkovic is already ready for these teams.”"

More from Manchester United News

Nikola Milenkovic and Dusan Vlahovic have done individually well in a poor Fiorentina side that stands 16th in the league.

Vlahovic, 21, is touted as one of the most promising strikers in Serie A these days, scoring 7 goals from 20 league appearances this season so far. His gigantic stature and the old-school style of the forward have made him a notably flamboyant figure in this Fiorentina side.

Playing on the right-side of Fiorentina’s three-man defence, Nikola Milenkovic, 23, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the last few months.

Manchester United have struggled a lot with their defensive vulnerabilities this season, having conceded 31 goals already from 24 matches in the Premier League. A centre-back signing is imminent for the Red Devils in the upcoming summer. However, It is to be seen whether they pursue Milenkovic or some of the other big names that they have on their wishlist.
