According to a recently emerged report, the Real Madrid ace prefers a move to Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window.
After the Red Devils concluded the 2019-20 Premier League season with the third-best defensive record in the league, many would have thought that the centre-back issues that had hurt the club since the departure of the duo of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic might have got fixed.
But it looks like they were wrong. While Manchester United conceded 36 goals in the league last season, they have already swallowed 27 goals from just 21 games, meaning they have been far worse than what they were in the previous campaign.
Some believe that it is the lack of a leader in defence that has had been their weak point. Harry Maguire is seemingly a leader both on and off the pitch but some serious questions over his ability to forge a solid defensive organization still persist.
Could Sergio Ramos be the answer to Manchester United’s problems?
This season, they have been seen getting caught in the transition more often while trying to play out from the back. And at the time of opponents’ counter-attacking and set-piece situations, United have struggled with their structural vulnerabilities or lack of awareness.
Therefore, it is thought that the club need a supreme figure with loads of experience in their defensive department to sort out the problems at the back. And considering the magnitude of the task, who would be better for the job than Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos?
As reported by The Mirror, the Real Madrid ace is pondering upon making a summer move to Manchester United. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are his personal preference over Paris Saint-Germain and some other clubs that are keen on signing the 4-time Champions League winner for free next summer.

Having not signed a contract extension at Los Blancos, Ramos appears destined to leave Madrid in June 2021. The report further reveals that he is now free to talk to clubs outside Spain in order to decide his future destination.
It is understood that the 34-year-old centre-back was left disheartened by the fact that the new two-year contract renewal that Real Madrid had offered would see him earn less than what he is earning (£10.8 million per year) currently.
Ramos has made 668 appearances for Real Madrid, garnering 100 goals and 48 assists, and won 18 trophies in total during his 15-and-a-half year spell at the Spanish side so far. Set to turn 35 next March, Ramos would be an incredible signing for the Red Devils.
