This January transfer window was always expected to be one where more players left Manchester United than came in. Despite making a brilliant start to the season and being in the middle of a Premier League title race, it is unlikely that the Red Devils would make any high-profile acquisitions. And that is exactly what has happened.
Now, that is not to say that there no holes in this current squad. Far from it. But with the current pandemic situation, funds were always expected to be low.
That appears to be the case all over Europe. There has been very little transfer business done this month and that looks set to continue over the last week of the window as well.
Outgoings have not been as rare at United though. Timothy Fosu-Mensah left for Bayer Leverkusen in search of first-team football. Odion Ighalo is set to follow him out the door as well as his loan deal comes to an end. And 19-year-old Lukasz Bejger has now left the club in order to complete a move to Polish side Slask Wroclaw.

It is probably the right decision for the Polish youngster to leave Manchester United
He is a versatile defender capable of playing at full-back and centre-back. The teenager was part of United’s FA Youth Cup side and managed to make 6 appearances for the under 23s this season. But it goes without saying that he was a long way away from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans.
As a result, it is probably the right decision on his part to move back to his native Poland and play for a club where he can get regular minutes. At his age, time on the pitch is very important for his development as a footballer on the senior level.
We would like to wish him the best for his future and hopefully, someday we will cross paths again.
