Manchester United have a huge chance of coming out of tomorrow’s FA Cup 4th round tie against Liverpool with a win. While it is not unknown that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have struggled against the traditional ‘Top Six’ this season, Jurgen Klopp’s side are in the midst of a terrible run of form.
The defending Premier League champions are without a win in their last five league games, having lost two and drawn three of them. And a 4-1 win against a very young Aston Villa is their only victory in 2021, which came in the third round of the FA Cup.
Clearly, Manchester United are the team in form. A 2-1 victory over Fulham saw them climb back to the top of the Premier League once again and they will be backing themselves to get a win over the Merseyside giants at Old Trafford tomorrow.
With the likes of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in prime form, the Red Devils should be confident going into the game. And while anything can happen in football, they can certainly be branded as the ‘favourites’.
Manchester United receive boost as Victor Lindelof fit to play vs Liverpool
One area which has been a worry for the Red Devils in these big games has been their defence. They are suspect at getting caught out at the back on occasions and also do not seem completely comfortable while defending set-pieces.

In this aspect, they have been handed a boost as it looks like Victor Lindelof will be available to feature tomorrow. As reported by Manchester Evening News, Solskjaer said:
"“Victor will be fine for the weekend, it was just too quick a turnaround we felt with the travel and with his back. I wanted to play Eric today (against Fulham) when Victor’s not ready anyway.“Now we’ve got four days extra. Victor got his treatment this morning and a little bit of light training so he should be ready for the weekend.”"
Lindelof has been the first choice centre-back for Solskjaer this season. And it is safe to say that his partnership with Maguire is looking formidable at the moment as United’s defence has improved a lot over the past few months.
This will be a worry for Klopp. After all, Liverpool have not found the back of the net in their last four Premier League games. That is quite a run for a team that has been scoring for fun for quite a few seasons now.
