Manchester United injury boost ahead of Liverpool match
Manchester United have been handed an injury boost ahead of their all-important Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday.
Manchester United are riding high at the moment with a three point lead at the top of the Premier League. But with the league tighter than ever this season, we know that a couple of bad results could send them tumbling down the table.
Just have a look at Liverpool for proof. A few weeks ago it had looked like that they were on their way to a second straight title. But two draws and a defeat since then means that they are in danger of falling to fifth if results don’t go their way on this gameday.
In this quest, Manchester United have been handed a timely injury boost as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Anthony Martial could feature against the defending champions as the Red Devils aim to extend their lead at the top of the table and make a statement.
As reported by Express, the Norwegian manager said:
"“Anthony is not out of it, the only ones certainly out are Brandon [Williams] and Phil Jones, they’re the two that definitely can’t make the game.“A couple of others are maybe doubts. We’re hoping, fingers crossed.”"

Martial has not been in the best of form this season though, having managed just two league goals till now. But we know that he can be devastating when on song and United fans will be hoping that he can turn things around quickly. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to remain at the top of the table without an in form striker in their squad.
Despite their incredible run of form which has seen them last lose a league game back in early November, against Arsenal, there are still question marks about the Red Devils’ title credentials. And to be honest, there are a few good reasons for that.
While they have been winning on a consistent basis, the performances have not been particularly impressive. As a result, there are fears that the wins could dry up eventually. Also, they are yet to win against one of the traditional ‘Big Six’ this season.
As a result, a win over Jurgen Klopp’s side could be particularly impressive and a huge statement on the part of Solskjaer’s side.
