The Premier League side are reportedly interested in the Manchester United duo and have submitted a transfer enquiry.

It is likely that Manchester United will let more players leave than they bring in in the January transfer window. We have already seen that Timothy Fosu-Mensah is nearing a move to Bayer Leverkusen and has flown to Germany to complete the transfer.

And the next two fringe players to leave could be Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams. Neither of them has managed to feature on a consistent basis for the Red Devils and it is expected that they will leave on loan this month in search of playing time.

One team that could do with a few fresh faces is Sheffield United. After a very impressive introduction to the Premier League last season that saw them finish ninth, they have completely fallen apart this time around.

Chris Wilder’s side sit on just 5 points from 18 games and could be on their way to breaking Derby County’s record of least points won in a Premier League season – 11.

Safe to say that they need to change things up and quickly if they want to somehow escape the relegation zone. Signing both Lingard and Williams will go a long way in that as according to the Express, they have submitted a transfer enquiry about the duo.

While Lingard has not set the world on fire in recent years, he has made 210 appearances for Manchester United through the course of his career and was part of the England team that made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia. He will certainly bring a lot to this struggling Blades side.

On the other hand, Williams featured heavily for the Red Devils last season in the absence of Luke Shaw but has fallen behind in the pecking order this campaign. He does have a lot of potential though and it will be a good learning experience for him to feature for a side trying to avoid relegation.

A move is still nowhere near completion but considering United’s willingness to let the duo leave, it should not be too difficult for the Blades to get a deal over the line.
