Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems ready to bring back the out-of-favour Manchester United star from the cold and give him another chance.

While Manchester United are in spectacular form right now, that cannot be said about every player in their squad. Their midfield has stepped up a lot this season but times have been let down by those in front of them.

The Red Devils looked like a free-scoring side towards the end of last season but the story has been very different this time around. Both Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood have struggled to discover their touch in front of goal. As a result, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes have had to do the heavy lifting with some brilliant cameos from Edinson Cavani as well.

It is a bit surprising that Odion Ighalo has not been given more chances. He has played just 157 minutes of football this season. But it looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to give him a look-in against Watford.

As reported by Goal, the manager said:

"“Odion, it’s special for him against Watford. He will be involved; he’s in the squad.“He’s been training really well. I was just saying before, I don’t know how many goals he scored, but he was the top scorer by a mile in the round-robin we just had in training.“So he’s not lost any of his sharpness or his quality. It’s been difficult for him to be out of the squad as many times of course because he did really well up to the summer.“This season he’s not had as many opportunities, but he’s never let himself down as a professional and a human being.”"

Ighalo will definitely want to make an impression against his former side. The Nigerian’s loan spell at Old Trafford also ends at the end of the month, so this could very well be the last time he plays for the club. And the FA Cup third round tie is also a massive opportunity for Solskjaer to give a bit of rest to his players.

While United have done spectacularly this season, it is undeniable that there is not a lot of quality depth in the squad when it comes to certain positions. Thus, a number of the players must be tired because of playing continuous football. Hopefully, the weekend off will help them recharge their batteries before they take on Burnley in the Premier League in what is going to be a very important match.

If the Red Devils manage to win that game, they will go three points clear at the top of the league. That is something that not many people would have expected to happen even a month ago.
