The Manchester United player could be about to make a return to Old Trafford in the January transfer window after recent events.

Not many people would have expected Manchester United to make the incredible start to the season that they have. Yes, they might already be out of the Champions League and League Cup, but even then the fans have to be happy with where they are standing right now on the Premier League table.

While there are still a number of holes in their squad, they have managed to do incredibly well over the past couple of months. And attacking midfield has appeared to be one of the strongest areas for the Red Devils.

Boasting creative players like Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Donny van de Beek, it has become quite a headache for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But it is one that he would probably welcome.

As a result, it is unlikely that Andreas Pereira will feature for the Red Devils anytime soon. Coming through the academy, he was one of the highly-rated youngsters at the club. Unfortunately, that hype has not translated into performances.

So he was sent to Lazio on loan in order to get some much needed playing time. At 25 years of age, he can no longer be considered as a young prospect and needs to find his footing in the game.

That does not appear to be happening in the Serie A though. In 15 appearances, Pereira has managed just a solitary goal and no assist. As a result, he seems to no longer be a part of their first-team plans., which is quite understandable. And according to Sport Witness, he might be looking to return to Old Trafford by asking for a change of clubs in January.

If that does happen, they will have to find another loan club for him though since it is highly unlikely that the situation will be any better at United.

Thus, the best thing for Pereira could be to try and force a way through into the Lazio setup through his performances. But if he does not increase his attacking output, then it is very unlikely that that will happen.
