Inter Milan want to sign Manchester United star in January
Serie A title contenders Inter Milan are looking to sign the 32-year-old Manchester United veteran in the January transfer window.
Ever since Antonio Conte became the manager of Inter Milan, Manchester United have been one of the Italian side’s favourite clubs to sign players from.
And even if it seems nothing but a mere eventuality, the Red Devils have emerged once again as the primary target of the Italian gaffer to fill his ranks at Inter from. The signings of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, and then Ashley Young only further emphasize the aforementioned notion that United have been a feeder club for the Italian giants over the last two years.
Though, all the players Conte has signed from the Red Devils were either surplus to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s requirements or looking to pursue their career somewhere else. Hence, you would find many saying both sides were left happy with those deals.
As suggested by the reports coming out of Italy, Inter might choose to turn sight yet again at the English club’s current roster with hopes of making a potential addition next month.
According to Sky Sports Italia (via Tribal Football), Inter Milan are looking to lure Nemanja Matic away from Manchester United in the January transfer window. The Serbian has lost his regular place in what has been a very unsettled United starting eleven this season.

His growing age indicates a massive drop in the central defensive midfielder’s mobility and his stamina. The three-time Premier League champion, who played for Antonio Conte during his days at Chelsea, might consider Serie A as the next destination in his professional career.
Considering United’s current position in the league table and belief of a possible go at the Premier League title this season, January would not be the right time to leave though. The Serbian international has made 15 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils this season.
As they don’t possess a leader and a former Premier League champion of his ilk in abundance these days, Matic’s presence adds stability and the much-needed experience to the squad.
Therefore, a January switch won’t make much sense, provided Matic’s contract with the Red Devils will expire in June 2023.
