Manchester United want to sign Argentine superstar
Manchester United are looking to move for the Argentine superstar if talks for a contract extension with his current club fall apart.
Manchester United might be flying very high right now but if we know one thing about football, it is that you cannot afford to remain at the same place for a long time. Not too long ago, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur where looking like title contenders while the Red Devils were in terrible form. Look at the table now.
While nothing is certain for the future, it does look like Paul Pogba is headed for the Old Trafford exit no matter what happens this season. And if or when that does happen, the club will need to bring in an replacement.
It might not be a like-for-like one though as the club are being linked with Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, whose contract negotiations appear to have hit a snag as he is no longer a huge part of the setup under Andrea Pirlo.
As reported by the Express, transfer guru Ian McGarry confirmed that United are indeed interested in the Argentine superstar:
"“He has been offered €11.5million gross for an extension of three years to his current deal. We know there have been conversations, negotiations, with Manchester United and Spurs over the last year to 18 months regarding a potential transfer of Dybala to the Premier League.“Those discussions will certainly be continued should he turn down this final offer from Juve to extend his contract. It’s also our understanding that United see Dybala as a long-term solution to what has been a short-term solution in Edinson Cavani, in terms of his age.”"

It will be quite the blockbuster move if United manage to pull off a swap move involving Pogba and Dybala. And all parties involved would probably be happy if that ended up happening.
While Dybala is a very different player to Cavani, you can understand the comparisons when it comes to their impact on a team. Despite his recent struggles, there is no doubt that the Argentine is a sensational player and was Juventus’ best player even last season. And it is more than likely that he will be a massive hit if he did move to Old Trafford.
The focus right now should be on the league campaign. It is unlikely that a deal of that magnitude will happen before the summer. And after how Pogba has been playing lately, the Red Devils should not even think about letting him go in January. After all, they have a Premier League title to fight for.
