The Manchester United graduate is ‘on the cusp’ of receiving a new contract that would ensure the player’s long-term stay at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have always had valued the youngsters coming through their illustrious academy, by either summoning them to first-team training or giving chances to prove themselves in senior football.
And who could neglect the ill-fated comment by Liverpool legend Alan Hansen, claiming they couldn’t win anything with kids. The Red Devils would go on to do the Treble with a team whose core was built up of players who had come through the academy.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United’s current manager, is also looking to implement something similar during his stay at Old Trafford. The Norwegian has already promoted several starlets from their academy – Mason Greenwood, James Garner, Tahith Chong, Teden Mengi and Brandon Williams are some of the notable names amongst them.

According to Todofichajes, the Red Devils are considering offering a new long-term contract to Mason Greenwood sooner rather than later. Refurbished with a substantial increase in his weekly wages, the reported contract is understood to keep him at the club until June 2025.
Having spent a stellar breakthrough campaign last season, Greenwood hasn’t got things going this season yet. Surrounded by several unprecedented controversies, the 19-year-old started the campaign very indistinctly.
He got dropped out of United’s starting XI several times as well as the England national team in what was a torrid series of events for the teenager. From 16 matches across all competitions, Greenwood has recorded only three goals and three assists to his name so far.
The last time Greenwood put pen to paper on a contract extension was back in October of 2019. As things stand, the club’s most prominent graduate is happy with his life at Old Trafford and will hopefully continue to play for his boyhood side for the foreseeable future.
