The out-of-favour Manchester United star is set to be offered an exit route out of Old Trafford with two clubs interested in signing him.
While defence is not there strongest suit, there are still a number of defenders at Old Trafford that Manchester United will want to get rid of in the near future. But despite his lack of playing time, Timothy Fosu-Mensah is not one of those guys.
The Dutch right-back was rated very highly while coming through the youth ranks but has failed to find his feet at the senior level. And while reports suggest that a new contract offer has been made by the Red Devils, it might be time for the 22-year-old to move in order to further his career.
He has not made an appearance in the Premier League since their opening day defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace. And he has not even made the squad since October. And his standing in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans became clear in the 2-2 draw against Leicester City.

In the absence of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the manager decided to go with Victor Lindelof, when the Swede has been playing with a back issue for quite some time. In fact, Fosu-Mensah was not even in the matchday squad.
According to an exclusive report from the Football insider, Hertha Berlin and Marseilles are keeping tabs on the youngster. His contract at Old Trafford runs out at the end of the season. And while the Red Devils do appear to be interested in retaining his services, one has to wonder whether the Dutch right-back will want to stay.
To be very honest, nobody can blame him if he does not. It is very clear that he is not going to get too many opportunities for United this season. And at 22 years of age, he might understandably want to further his career elsewhere instead of warming the benches at Old Trafford or even worse, sitting at home.
