With Donny van de Beek struggling to break into Manchester United’s first-team, the AC Milan legend has suggested a swap deal for the Dutchman.
Manchester United managed to end their summer transfer window on a reasonably good note with four deadline day signings after failing to land Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Instead, Donny van de Beek was their marquee signing of the summer.
But the Dutchman has not set the world on fire since then, which has raised quite a few questions about his long-term future at Old Trafford. So far the former Ajax star has enjoyed only 760 minutes across all competitions despite having no injury issues at any point.
As reported by the Sport Witness, AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta, who now works as a pundit on Italian TV has suggested that a swap deal involving Van de Beek and Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen could be a possible way out of Old Trafford for the Dutchman:
"“Eriksen would be someone to exchange with someone who does not play in England, with Manchester United, Arsenal… Van de Beek, for example, could be a good idea for Inter.”"

Speculations were made about a potential move for Eriksen to Manchester United from Inter Milan in the past, as the former Spurs star has failed to establish himself in the Seria A. And with just 373 minutes to his name this season, the Danish international is yet to score a goal or provide an assist this campaign.
Within just 12 months of his signing, Inter appear to have decided to part ways with the midfielder and Costacurta has suggested a swap with United for Van de Beek.
Although you can never say never in football, it is unlikely that Solskjaer will let go of the Dutch youngster for Eriksen, who is set to turn 29 this February. And with Paul Pogba looking set to leave the club in the very near future, it might not be too long before Van de Beek gets his chance to sign at Old Trafford.
