Manchester United’s transfer plans for Haaland in danger
It looks like Manchester United’s transfer plans for Erling Haaland are in danger of falling apart because of one reason.
Despite being just 20 years of age, Erling Haaland is already one of the most ruthless strikers in the world. His stats are just extraordinary and it is no surprise that some of the biggest clubs from all around Europe, including Manchester United, want to acquire his services in the near future.
United are in search of a long-term striker. Edinson Cavani was brought in to fill the void in the summer but it is unlikely that the 33-year-old will be at Old Trafford for a long time. On the other hand, there are serious questions about Anthony Martial’s finishing at the moment.
Any potential transfer plans for Haaland would have suffered a massive blow though, after recent events surrounding Mino Raiola. As reported by the Mirror, there is friction between the club and the striker as well due to their failed negotiations when the Norwegian was looking to leave RB Salzburg.

As a result, it looks very unlikely that the club will be able to get a deal for Haaland over the line. Although reports state that he is still one of the names on top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer list, as the manager is keen for a reunion after their spell together at Molde.
And it is not hard to see why. Haaland has bagged 23 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances since moving to Borussia Dortmund. His record in the Champions League is even more extraordinary, having scored 16 goals in just 12 appearances in Europe’s elite competition.
Earlier reports had claimed that Haaland has a £68 million clause in his contract although those claims have been disputed by Dortmund chiefs since then. That does not mean that there is not a lot of interest in the Norwegian though. Apparently, he is on the top of Chelsea’s summer wishlist while Manchester City are also keeping tabs.
