The Manchester United player was spotted watching the training of another club as he continues to struggle to break into Solskjaer’s plans.

With the January transfer window around the corner, it is expected that the transfer rumour mill will go into overdrive pretty soon. And Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo has just given them some fuel to add to that fire after he was spotted watching the training session of Estudiantes.

The Argentine defender came through the Estudiantes academy and made 53 appearances for them before moving to Europe. He has been out of the first-team picture Old Trafford for quite some time though and it is expected that he will leave the club soon.

He had joined his former club on loan in January of this year as well but had to return to the Red Devils after making just one appearance due to the global pandemic. Him watching them train might hint at the fact that he is set to make another return soon.

The news was covered by Cielosports (via Sportwitness). They claim that Rojo went to Estudiantes’ training facilities just after landing in Argentina. He is currently out with an injury and is expected to spend Christmas and New Year in his motherland before returning to Manchester.

The report states that he plans to fight for his place at Old Trafford but to be very honest, it is unlikely that he will be afforded too many minutes by Solskjaer. As a result, a permanent return to Argentina might actually be on the cards for Rojo.

The Argentine’s contract at Manchester United runs out next summer and although the club have the option to extend his stay by another year, it looks unlikely that they will take that option. He is well-and-truly out of the picture at Old Trafford, having made just 15 appearances over the past three seasons and it might be best for all parties involved to part ways as soon as possible.
