David Beckham seems interested in signing the out-of-favour Manchester United player for his new MLS side, Inter Miami.

Being one of the owners of Inter Miami, it was expected that sooner or later, he was going to use his connections with Manchester United to sign some players to his new Major League Soccer team.

Till now, that has not happened although that has not stopped them from making a splash in the transfer market. Inter Miami have already signed the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi. And this time, it could be the turn of out-of-favour United goalkeeper, Sergio Romero.

According to the Express, Beckham has set his eyes on the Argentine keeper. Romero joined the Red Devils back in 2015, during the spell of Louis van Gaal as United manager. And he has been a great servant to the club since then. But it looks like he is on borrowed time at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Argentine has fallen down the pecking order since the return of Dean Henderson from a very successful loan spell at Sheffield United. It is clear that he wants to leave Old Trafford in search of regular minutes. And at 33 years of age, he could do much worse than move to a club like Inter Miami, where he is expected to receive both playing time and a hefty salary.

On the other hand, the MLS club couldn’t ask for a better professional. To be very honest, Romero is very underrated and has easily been one of the best back-up keepers in the world for quite some time now. And it might be time for him show what he can do as a regular starter.

Inter Miami won’t be the only club in the race for Romero though as Leeds United and Everton are also known admirers of the Argentine. His contract at United expires in the summer and they shouldn’t be opposed to let him go. That could change though if either De Gea or Henderson pick up an injury in the near future.
