Manchester United sent warning about Bruno Fernandes’ future
Manchester United have been sent a warning about Bruno Fernandes’ Old Trafford future with interest growing around Europe.
It is safe to say that Bruno Fernandes has taken the Premier League by storm since moving to Manchester United in January. He was always a highly-rated talent in Portugal but there were concerns about how he would adjust to English football. There are no concerns now!
In 25 appearances in the Premier League, he has scored 15 goals and 11 assists. And he is easily one of the best playmakers in the world right now.
Unfortunately, those around him at Old Trafford have not been nearly as good. They got knocked out from the group stage of the UEFA Champions League and are now back in the Europa League, not where they would like to be.
Fernandes’ performances are sure to draw interest of clubs all around Europe though. And if the club do not start delivering, they might have a hard time holding on to the Portuguese international.
That is the concern of Andy Cole as well. Speaking on The Target Men Podcast and as reported by Football 365, he said:
"“The concern for Manchester United is that Bruno Fernandes has well and truly put himself on the map now.“It’s probably only a matter of time until there are rumours of a Barcelona and Real Madrid being interested in signing him and if Manchester United continue to not perform in the Champions League, no-one knows if his head could be turned in the years ahead.”"

That should be a genuine concern for the club moving forward. They look set to lose out on Paul Pogba in the near future. And if the club do not start competing for trophies soon, it might not be long before Fernandes follows suit.
There have been signs of improvement recently though. In the second half of last season, they looked like one of the best teams in the Premier League. And despite a shaky start this time around, they are in a decent position to break into the top four soon as teams around them continue to stumble.
They just need to continue to progress in the right path and with a couple more signings, they can finally establish themselves as title contenders once again. Hopefully, that will convince Fernandes that his long-term future lies at Old Trafford.
