Ed Woodward has made a transfer promise to a ‘furious’ Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after recent events at Manchester United.
Manchester United have managed to well and truly steady the ship in the Premier League after a disastrous start to their campaign. The recent failures of their main rivals mean that they are well placed to break into the top four, something that would have looked out of their reach just a month ago.
Their elimination from the Champions League would have been a major disappointment for the club though as they now find themselves in the Europa League once again.
After winning their first two group stage games against Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig, many would have expected them to cruise into the knockout stage. But instead, they lost three of their last four games, ultimately finishing third in their group and being relegated to the Europa League.
Mino Raiola’s comments regarding Paul Pogba leading up to their all-important final group stage game against RB Leipzig appears to have left Solskjaer ‘furious’. And it looks like the club are more than open to letting the Frenchman go in the near future.
Whether that is in January or next summer remains to be seen. But Solskjaer has been promised that he will get the transfer fee that they receive from the sale and then some more to strengthen his squad further.

As reported by the Mirror, Ed Woodward told Manchester United supporters in a virtual meeting:
"“I told this forum back in April that we remained committed to strengthening the squad, while being disciplined in our spending during the pandemic.“I believe we’ve delivered on that, with the additions we made during the summer taking our total net spending to over €200million (£180m) since summer 2019 – more than any other major European club over that period.“We will continue to support Ole with a planned, long-term approach to recruitment, focused on the summer windows.”"
To be very honest, there has been a lot of improvement at the club since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January. But this squad is still from perfect and needs a few more signings before they can compete for the Premier League title. And it is good to see that that is exactly what the Red Devils are planning to do.
