Premier League side want to sign out-of-favour Manchester United star
The relegation-fighting side could consider making a January move for the Manchester United star as they try to rescue their 2020-21 campaign.
With almost one-third of the Premier League 2020-21 season now done, the points table has started taking a shape — all the top sides bar Arsenal have begun to settle down in the top half of the table.
The lower end of the table, however, holds quite a few surprise names that were never expected to be there at the start of the campaign. One of those names is that of Sheffield United. Led by Chris Wilder, The Blades promised much to their supporters with their last season’s performances.
Gaining promotion in 2018-19 campaign, Sheffield United finished ninth last time and were close to securing a European spot at a time. This season, it appears as if Wilder’s men have lost the charm that made them a special and unique side in the Premier League.
Of course, injuries have had played an integral part in plaguing the start to their season, especially the one of their star centre-back Jack O’Connell, who is still nursing a knee injury.

Yet to win a game in the Premier League, Sheffield United sit at 20th, currently in the middle of a relegation battle although there’s a lot of football yet to be player. And the growing feeling is that Chris Wilder would go with open arms to embrace every possible opportunity that the upcoming January transfer window presents.
As reported by Mail Sport, Sheffield United have identified Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo as a potential January transfer target.
Regarded as an out-of-favour candidate under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Rojo has not played a single minute of competitive football this season. The Argentine does not appear to have what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is searching for in his centre-halves. Though, the report goes on to state that his £80,000-a-week salary could end up being a reason The Blades decide against signing him.
Rojo’s contract will keep him at the club until the next summer. If nothing happens regarding the Argentine’s future in January, he will be free to leave Old Trafford in June 2021.
