Kylian Mbappe has made an unexpected admission about Manchester United which provides hope for a future Old Trafford move.

Kylian Mbappe is without doubt one of the best players in the world right now. Already having won the World Cup as well as multiple titles at club level, it feels like the Frenchman has been around for years but in fact, he is still just 21 years old.

While he has been extremely successful since joining Paris Saint-Germain, there is a growing feeling that he will ultimately end up leaving the club sooner or later. And when that happens, it is expected that every top European club would want to acquire his services.

Reports have suggested that Real Madrid will be his most likely destination while rivals FC Barcelona are interested in bringing him to Camp Nou, possibly to fill the boots of Lionel Messi who is looking to leave the club next summer.

But if recent reports are to be believed then Manchester United could end up being dark horses in the race for Mbappe.

Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast and as reported by Daily Star, journalist Duncan Castles claimed that the Frenchman has a soft spot for the Red Devils. And it is not hard to see why that might be the case.

More from Manchester United News

It is no secret that the 21-year-old grew up as a Cristiano Ronaldo fan and we don’t need to tell you about the connection between the Portuguese legend and the Red Devils. During his childhood, United were also one of the most dominant teams in Europe and it would not be surprising if they were one of the clubs that a young Mbappe supported during his childhood.

While United certainly do have the power to finance a deal for Mbappe, it will be interesting to see whether he does want a move to Old Trafford though.

It is undeniable that the club do not have the capability to challenge for the Champions League at this point of time, which is evident from their elimination from the Group Stage of the competition this season. And a player like Mbappe is expected to have Champions League as well as Ballon d’Or ambitions.
