The Manchester United star has reportedly held crunch talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after promises were broken.

Dean Henderson spent two very productive seasons at Sheffield United, establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in English football. How badly the Blades have struggled without him this season just goes to show how important he was to their team.

When the keeper returned to Old Trafford in the summer, there was a feeling that he was going to take over the first-team gloves from David de Gea. The Spaniard had gone through a tough phase at the end of last season and Henderson was clearly the man in form.

In fact, Solskjaer had reportedly promised him regular playing time at the start of the season. But having made just 4 starts since then, it looks like Henderson is not willing to wait much longer to get his chance and is open to the idea of leaving on loan in January.

According to the Metro, the English keeper is tired of playing second fiddle to his Spanish counterpart and has held crunch talks with Solskjaer.

The manager has looked reluctant to drop De Gea from the starting XI despite his inconsistent form. It had appeared that he was getting back to his best earlier in the season but has been shaky once again in recent weeks. He was even at fault for RB Leipzig’s third goal on Tuesday night which ultimately ended up costing United their place in the Champions League.

To be very honest, Henderson cannot be blamed for wanting to leave. Gareth Southgate reportedly wants him to be playing regular football if he wants to be in consideration for the England national team. And at 23 years of age, he knows he cannot waste too much time sitting on the bench, waiting for Solskjaer to finally drop De Gea. He is too good of a keeper for that job.
