After recent recent events, the Manchester United board are reportedly afraid that they made a mistake during Jose Mourinho’s time at the club.

The Manchester United board surely couldn’t have been with how the Paul Pogba situation has unfolded over the past few weeks. The Frenchman’s agent Mino Raiola, who is an unpopular figure around Old Trafford, has come out and stated publicly that the midfielder’s time at the club will be over sooner or later, pretty much confirming that he has no interest in signing a new contract.

To be honest, it has looked like Pogba wants to leave the club for a few years now. And as a result, it should not come as a surprise to any United fan that he looks bound for the exit door.

With less than a couple of years left on his contract, it looks likely that the Red Devils will let him go sometime over the next two transfer windows. Otherwise, they run the risk of him leaving for free.

Those with a good memory will remember though that Pogba’s problems initially started during Jose Mourinho’s last season at the club. The two would have falling out and the manager would relegate the Frenchman to the bench.

The Red Devils’ terrible form during that period of time though was far from great. And ultimately, the club would end up sacking Mourinho. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would take over from the Portuguese manager, and the results improved immediately. According to The Sun, the Manchester United board are now afraid that they made the wrong decision back then by siding with Pogba over Mourinho.

As we know, Mourinho has continued to succeed in the Premier League by turning Tottenham Hotspur into genuine title contenders in a short space of time and without spending a significant amount of money. On the other hand, Pogba’s problems have continued and he will more than likely be a former Manchester United player sooner rather than later.
