Manchester United have been handed a massive transfer boost in their bid to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

It has been a dream of Manchester United fans for a long-time to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford. The Portuguese legend made his name at the club before moving to Real Madrid and going on to enjoy one of the most decorated careers in the history of football.

There was always the feeling that if he left the Los Blancos, he would make a return to Old Trafford before hanging up his boots. When he did actually leave the Spanish giants a couple of years ago, he ended up moving to Juventus though.

Despite being 35 now, he still is one of the most lethal players on the planet and continues to perform at a very high level. But the window to bring him back is very short.

There have been recent suggestions though that the Italian giants could let him leave if they fail to win the Champions League this season. And if that does happen, there is another chance for United to complete the blockbuster move.

They have been handed a boost in this aspect as well as it looks like Chevrolet are keen for the reunion to happen. And according to Auto Esporte, they are willing to invest heavily in order to make the deal happen.

It is not hard to see why that could be the case. Ronaldo is one of the biggest athletes on the planet. And him moving to Manchester United will bring a lot of extra eyeballs with it. That will be great exposure for the American car manufactures who adorn the front of the Red Devils’ iconic jersey.

It is not clear though how much Chevrolet want to invest and in what aspect they will be making their contribution. One thing is clear though – Ronaldo will not come cheap.

While he is not expected to fetch the €100 million that Juventus paid for him, their asking price is still expected to be significant even at 35 years of age. And then there is the small matter of his mammoth £365,000-a-week salary. Next summer promises to be a very interesting one for United.
