Manchester United are ready to double the superstar’s wages as he continues to draw interest from clubs around Europe.
Bruno Fernandes has now become perhaps the most crucial part of the Manchester United squad and is considered as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. He has performed exceptionally well since joining the club in January.
This season so far, Fernandes has been directly involved in 16 goals in only 16 appearances which is quite unbelievable, considering the fact the he is an attacking midfielder.
The Portuguese international, came to Old Trafford as an emergency signing and has had an incredible impact on the club since then. It was thanks to his contribution last season that United finished at third on the Premier League table, which secured them a place in the Champions league.
The 26-year old has played 38 games for the Red Devils and has scored 22 goals along side providing 14 assists, which is a remarkable record yet to be matched by any other midfielder in the history of the club.
Such performance levels have been key in attracting clubs like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona who are considering Fernandes as a potential target. Such speculations have been a cause for concern for the Red Devils.
Reports from Manchester Evening News have claimed that the club are planning to shut down any kind of transfer buzz surrounding their playmaker, as United are prepared to double Fernandes’ weekly wages to about £200,000 in order to prove to him how important he is to the club.
He might only have been at the club for 11 months but looks set to already be awarded an increase in his wages to keep the Spanish giants at bay. On the other hand, Jesse Lingard will most probably be making an exit from the club in the coming winter transfer window. The Englishman has only been featured in two games this season and will be desperate for some playing time.
Lingard was once a key member in the United squad but with the likes of Donny Van de Beek and Bruno Fernandes available to Solskjaer right now, it might just be a wise decision on the Englishman’s part to make his exit from Old Trafford. Because it is unlikely that he’ll get his place back in the starting XI.
