It looks like Neymar was impressed with Manchester United despite Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 win at Old Trafford.

Manchester United must have been confident going into their clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night, but the game turned out to be a rather disappointing one for the Red Devils as they were handed 3-1 defeat by the French Champions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were able to recover in the first half after conceding within 6 minutes of the game with the equaliser coming from Marcus Rashford in the 32nd minute. And going into the second half, it was the hosts who looked in control of things.

A win on Wednesday night would have secured United a place in the Round of 16 but now anything can happen on the last matchday. The two sides along with RB Leipzig all sit on 9 points in Group H, and as a result Solskjaer’s men game against the Germans could end up being an eliminator.

Neymar though appeared to be impressed by the Red Devils and has claimed that they have been their toughest opponents both mentally as well as on the pitch.

It seems reasonable for the Brazilian superstar to have hailed United as their toughest opponents as the two sides have had some memorable contests in the Champions League in the past few years with the Premier League giants coming out on top more often than not.

But on Wednesday night, PSG were finally was able to shut down all the speculation about them not being able to perform against United by scoring 2 goals and putting themselves in control of the group.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Neymar said in an interview:

"“After today’s game [PSG vs Man United] which, for me, was the toughest game for us mentally and out on the pitch as well.“We are very aware that the next game will be difficult too, but I just think after performing like we did today we can definitely win.“It was a big win In the last match, I said we needed to change our mentality, the way we play and rediscover our identity which helped us became Champions League finalists last year.“Today, we showed that. We got close to our best level by playing well, fighting, working hard as a team so I think that’s the spirit.“Of course, we have a lot of things we still need to work on, we want to get to a point where we’re all playing our best.“I think today we showed that we can play better than how we’ve been playing recently.“So I think it was a big win against a very good team, with a lot of quality. We’re really happy with the result.”"

Anything but a defeat against PSG would have seen United book their place in the last 16 of the competition but that was not to be. Now they have what promises to be a nervy affair against RB Leipzig. Again, United only need to draw in order to go through. And hopefully, they will have enough in the tank to get the job done this time around.
