Juventus are reportedly preparing a loan deal for the Manchester United star after he has failed to break into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team.

It is safe to say that things have not gone to plan for Donny van de Beek since moving to Old Trafford. The Dutchman came with a big reputation as he completed a transfer to Manchester United worth an initial £35.7 million.

But since then, first-team opportunities have been rare for the midfielder. Till now, he has featured for just 88 minutes in the Premier League and not made a single start.

To be fair to Van de Beek, the Red Devils are packed in that position. At this point of time, Fernandes is the undisputed starter while he finds himself on the bench along with Paul Pogba. Not a bad problem to have if you are Solskjaer but something the Dutch international will surely not be happy about.

As a result, rumours have started to crop up about a potential exit from old Trafford as early as January in search of first-team football. And according to the Daily Mail, Juventus are eager to offer him a lifeline.

The Italian giants are reportedly keen on getting a loan deal done for the midfielder with an option to buy. And it is not hard to see why considering the immense potential that he has. While midfield might be one of United’s strong suits, that is certainly not the case for Juve. And as a result, Van de Beek might get a lot more minutes there than he would for the Red Devils this season.

It will be surprising though if Manchester United agree to any offer made by the Italian giants. They would not have made such a significant investment on the Dutchman if they did not have long-term plans for him.
