Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering offloading at least three Manchester United players in the upcoming January transfer window.

The past summer transfer window provided Manchester United with both sufficient opportunities and adequate time to see out a mass exodus. Yet, with more than one month gone past the international deadline day, the Red Devils are stuck with a lot of players with no

There remained the talks of selling a few stars throughout the summer. Nevertheless, the United management preferred keeping a noteworthy group of surpluses rather than losing them under what they considered to be their real value. Sergio Romero was someone who tried to force a move out of Old Trafford after he was not allowed to leave.

As a result, the club failed to do what could have been done earlier in the summer transfer market. They ducked foreseeing the future, and hence the balance within the squad seems off at this point of time with a number of players with no hope for minutes still there.

According to reports from Manchester Evening News, United are currently considering trimming down their squad, intending to offload at least three men in the upcoming January transfer window.

Romero remains the leading man on that list of potential sales. Set to expire in the upcoming summer, the Argentine goalkeeper’s contract holds an option of an additional year. Though, United are believed to be pondering upon letting him leave in January after blocking his deadline day move to Everton last summer.

The names of Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones are also notable. The duo has have helped United over the years. But the general consensus among the Red Devils fanbase is that both are past their prime and no longer meet the demands required at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

Signed from Sporting CP in 2014, Rojo’s contract runs till June 2021. Jones, on the other hand, is bound to the club till 2023. But at Manchester United, they are currently devoid of regular game time. And a move away might be the best option for them.

Another candidate looking likely to leave is United’s second-choice right-back, Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Having made only two appearances in the 2020-21 campaign so far, he needs to think if his future lies away from Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly likes the Dutchman and wants to keep him at the club. However, there is still no talks of a contract renewal for the 22-year-old as his future remains uncertain.
