The pundit has predicted that the Manchester United superstar is set to depart Old Trafford in the near future because of positional issues.
While he has never quite managed to show his best in a Manchester United shirt, the talent of Paul Pogba has never been in question. When the Frenchman joined the Red Devils in a then world record £89 million move, he was expected to take the club back to the top after a few rough years since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.
By now though, it is quite clear that that has not happened. Instead it is Pogba whose stock has fallen and with his contract running out, the club seem ready to let him leave for a fee of around £53 million in the summer transfer window if certain reports are to be believed.
A lot of people blame the management for Pogba’s shortcomings in a Manchester United shirt though. And Carlton Palmer appears to be one of them.
As reported by Football Fan Cast, he said:
"“I see him leaving United.“Why was he successful at Juventus? Well, they paid three at the back, five in the middle of the park, which allowed him to play in a free role. Go and do and what you’ve got to do son.“He’s a talented boy, but you can’t keep blaming Pogba if you don’t play him and set the team up the right way for him to perform.”"

Without going into those tactical discussions, Pogba cannot wash his hands completely in this matter. It has always appeared that he does not even want to be at the club. Every transfer window has brought with it new rumours regarding his possible exit. And now with his contract running out, his departure looks set in stone.
Interestingly, even though he has not set the world on fire over the past several seasons, there has never been a shortage of takers of the French World Cup winner. In fact, two of the biggest clubs in the world in the form of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are said to be interested in signing him.
A few years more left in his contract and Manchester United could have looked for a bidding war. But in this situation, it looks like they’ll be losing him for a bargain price after all. But then things could have been even worse if the club did not have the option to extend his contract by another year.
