It looks like a return to Manchester United might finally be on the cards for Cristiano Ronaldo as the club have reportedly made an offer.
For years, Manchester United have been linked with a move to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo but it has never quite transpired. At one point it had looked like the Portuguese superstar was gonna retire at Real Madrid but then expectedly ended up joining Juventus a couple of years ago. As a result, it had looked like the door on a potential Old Trafford return had been shut forever.
It looks like that has changed now though and there might be a chance for a comeback after all. As reported by Record and as cited by Sport Witness, the Red Devils have already made a formal offer to Ronaldo via his agent Jorge Mendes and the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner is currently analysing the offer. The report further goes on to state that Juventus would be willing to let the legend leave if they fail to win the Champions League this season.
The Italians had certainly brought in Ronaldo thinking that he was the final piece to the Champions League puzzle. They had gone agonizingly close a number of times without winning the trophy and this was their biggest statement of intent.

Things have not gone according to plan though as it seems the side have taken a step back in the competition. And if anything does not happen this season, then Juventus seem happy enough to cut their losses on a player who is on huge wages and has not set the world alight over the past two seasons to be very honest.
Now, a move to Manchester United would make a world of sense for both club and player. On one hand, a player like Ronaldo would automatically enhance their brand, which has suffered a bit after their failure to win trophies over the past few seasons.
On the other hand, this could be the final big move of Ronaldo’s career. And what better place to close his career than where he first made a name for himself on the global stage.
Of course, rumours like these surface once every year but this time around there seems to be more to it than just a quick story. Finally it makes sense for all parties involved. The comeback of dreams just might happen!
