The Manchester United players want the club to make a big decision following their rough start to the Premier League season.

Manchester United might have walked out of Goodison Park with a 3-1 win over Everton but they are still nowhere out of the woods. Even all three points on the day leaves them at 13th on the table Premier League – not where they want to be and staying there for much longer might end up costing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job.

The players appear to still have faith in the manager, but they want the club owners to hire a technical director.

The club have suffered in recruitment for some time now. In just the summer transfer window, they missed out on top target Jadon Sancho and a number of other back-up options. You would also think that a new centre-back would have been on their wishlist but that was not fulfilled either.

According to the Daily Mail, the players still want to play under the Norwegian manager. But they are also hoping that the club hire a technical director who can take care of the recruitment side of things.

As things stand, Ed Woodward is the man in power of these decisions while Solskjaer is also expected to have a lot of influence on which moves take place. The hiring of a technical director will surely take away some of that power and influence from the duo when it comes to strictly signing players.

It is undeniable though that the club need a technical director and have done so for quite some time. All the top teams have people in similar positions and it is time for the Red Devils to move forward with the times as well and get themselves one. It will be interesting to see what the Glazers decide though.
