Manchester United have been reported to have lowered their asking price for Paul Pogba and are ready to let go of the Frenchman in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Paul Pogba has never managed to deliver upto his standards since joining the Manchester United in 2016 and has been barely above average throughout his stay at Old Trafford. And recently his performance against Arsenal could see him return to the bench, where he has spent most of his time following the international break.

At the start of the season strong speculations were about Pogba leaving the club for Real Madrid, but United responded to those rumours by extending the 27-year-old’s contract till 2022.

But recently after United suffered a 2-1 loss in their Champions League game against Istanbul Basaksehir, the officials at Old Trafford have apparently decided to cut down ties with the Frenchman in the upcoming summer window and have been reported to have reduced the asking price to £53 million, a lot lower than the £89 million they paid for him, which was a then world record.

With the defeat against Arsenal, the Red Devils have been receiving a lot of criticism with Paul Pogba being questioned about his major mistake of giving away the penalty and letting the Gunners secure their first away win against the ‘BIG 6’ since 2015.

Even before that Paul Pogba was also excluded from the starting line-up and was mostly used as an impact sub in the second half in recent games. It was looking like he had lost his position as a starter in the club with Bruno Fernandes playing as the creative midfielder with Fred and Scott McTominay behind him.

Although the Red Devils have lost their interest in the Frenchman, Real Madrid are still on the trail for the midfielder and in the next summer we might be seeing Pogba play for the Spanish giants. Some fans might think that providing the midfielder with some more time at the club might have a positive effect, but majority of them have become frustrated with the performances of the Frenchman, it might be a better decision for the club to let go of him.
