The Manchester United board have been warned in case they do end up replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Mauricio Pochettino as manager.
Mauricio Pochettino has been rumoured as a future Manchester United manager even when he was at Tottenham Hotspur. And now that he has been without a club for almost a year, those calls have only intensified in certain sections of the fanbase.
One of the best qualities of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is that he knows how to get his team to perform when their backs are against the wall. That is how he has managed to save himself from getting the sack on a number of occasions. But it has always felt like the Norwegian is not a long-term option despite have managed the club in 100 games already.
If the club do end up replacing him with Mauricio Pochettino though, the board must be prepared for some big changes at the club if the Argentine’s recent comments are anything to go by.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football about his time at Tottenham Hotspur and as reported by the Daily Star, Pochettino said:
"“You need to create a line from the top. Be strong in your principal, in the way you’re going to develop, in the way you’re going to lead, for the thing happening in the way that you want.“That was amazing to have this possibility, to feel free, to create something special at Tottenham. That was amazing.“Change is always painful. It is really painful. When you arrive at a new club you have to make changes.“If you arrive at the beginning, easier. If you arrive in the middle, the same. You need to start to build. That is why it is so important to create a big platform and that is what we really the believe.“The coaching staff is to create a platform where the player can feel comfortable and improve. It’s so important.”"

Of course, his approach is not expected to change if he does end up at Old Trafford. And to be honest, it should not. After all, he did manage to turn a Tottenham Hotspur side that was struggling to consistently finish in the top four and turned them into title contenders while also taking them to the Champions League Final.
While he is often criticised for never winning a trophy with the club, the fact of the matter is that he achieved more than he was expected to during his time at the club. And most United fans will be happy he ends up managing the club one day.
For now though, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the man in the managerial hot seat and we got to back him. While the start to the season has not been the most consistent, there has already been a lot of positives, namely wins over PSG and RB Leipzig. And hopefully, the team can continue producing such results on a regular basis.
