Solskjaer confirms Manchester United star underwent surgery
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the Manchester United star has undergone an operation and will be out for the foreseeable future.
Manchester United have had their fair share of injury issues this season but the side have done admirably in the absence of their players. After a stumbling start to the season they have steadied the ship quite well over the past couple of weeks.
It looked like the side were doomed after a humiliating 6-1 defeat at the hands of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur. It looks like that was the wake up call they needed though as they have come out flying out of the international break.
One player who has not been part of any of this though is Phil Jones. And it looks like he is set to be on the sidelines till December, as was confirmed by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
As reported by The Sun, he said:
"“Phil has been injured and he’s had an operation and he’s working really hard to be back. He’ll hopefully get fit during December.”"

The defender had looked like he was going to be a Manchester United stalwart for years to come during his early years at the club and was a favourite of Sir Alex Ferguson. Since then though things have not gone quite as expected for Jones.
While the manager has not confirmed what it was that had to force him to get an operation, the fact that he has undergone the procedure suggests that it was something serious. Over the past few years, he has been no stranger to fitness issues.
While he is set to be out of action till December, it is unlikely that he would have been a major part of Solskjaer’s first-team plans even if he had been fit. Maguire, Bailly, Lindelof, Tuanzebe all appear to be ahead of him in the pecking order. And do not be surprised if you see him leaving Old Trafford for good in the near future.
