Manchester United must have been forced to rethink their summer transfer plans after their 5-0 win over RB Leipzig.

Martin Keown questioned the quality of the RB Leipzig centre-back after the match on Wednesday night, when the defender was left completely outclassed on the pitch by Marcus Rashford in Manchester United’s 5-0 win.

Dayot Upamecano was able to grab attention of the Red Devils and has been linked with a potential move to England as United are constantly looking to strengthen their defensive line-up. Recently the Frenchman has been all over the media with reports claiming that he could very well be a top signing for the Premier League giants next summer.

The match against RB Leipzig on Wednesday night was a big event for the centre-back to display his defensive qualities to his potential future employers. It was all running smoothly despite the the Germans trailing 1-0 in the first half of the game as the Frenchman made decent tackles and interceptions to hold off the United attack.

But the second half of the game was a completely different story as the momentum of the game changed with Marcus Rashford being brought on to the field. The Englishman was quick on his feet and in no time doubled the United scoreline.

Although it was second goal scored by the English international that got Keown thinking about Upamecano when Rashford, dribbled past the centre-back leaving him scrambling on the floor, before netting a brilliant goal.

As reported by the Mirror, Keown during his commentary duties for BT sports said:

"All that talk about Upamecano. He’s absolutely destroyed him hasn’t he.”"

It is undeniable that the match against the Germans , on Wednesday night will be remembered for a long time and so will be the outstanding display of Marcus Rashord. But this will impact the decision of Manchester United about their summer transfer target as the centre-back was left exposed in the second half of the game and such a performance may force the Red Devils to revaluate their interest.
