Manchester United staff have reportedly been left frustrated by Mason Greenwood’s actions, which could be the reason behind his recent absence.

The 19-year old has had a pretty successful breakthrough at Manchester United but fans were not able to see much of him in the recent matches. Greenwood was seen training for hours before the departure of the Red Devils for Paris, but then again he was seen missing from the squad.

It seems like the Englishman has frustrated the staff at the club and it could be the real reason for him being excluded from the squad over the past week or so. Although when asked about Greenwood, Solskjaer strongly denied any kind of off-the-field issues and remarked that he was ‘unfit’ for Tuesday’s match and the same was the reason for the match at St. James Park.

But when Solskjaer was further questioned about the details of Greenwood injury, he replied:

"“I can’t declare medical stuff, can I? It’s just a niggle and, as young as he is, we don’t want to take any chances with him. Hopefully at the weekend he’ll be fine again.”"

Although reports from Daily Mail, claim that the Old Trafford officials had a dispute over Greenwood’s punctuality. We have seen before that United does not take any kind of unprofessional behaviour lightly. One such incident was from the time of Sir Alex Ferguson when he had a dispute with David Beckham and the midfielder was told to see his way out of the club.

In the past few months Mason Greenwood has shown some unprofessional behaviour indeed, when the 19-year old missed his England games due to disciplinary reasons. He along with Manchester City’s Phil Foden, broke protocol in the middle of a global pandemic and where quite rightfully left out of the team when caught.

It was clear that with Martial being sent off in the match against Spurs, Solskjaer was left with limited options and Mason Greenwood would have been a perfect replacement for the time being but instead, he brought in Daniel James against Newcastle United.

Of course, all of this could be about nothing and probably the youngster really has a niggling injury. Whatever may be the case, let’s just hope he is back on the pitch as soon as possible.
