The Manchester United star has rubbished rumours that have claimed that he had a bust-up with Solskjaer at half-time of the 6-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.

One con of being a top professional footballer is that there will always be stories about you circulating in the media. Some true, some not. Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has not taken much time though to rubbish rumours of him having lost his faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, labelling those talks as ‘no way true’.

The Red Devils suffered a shambolic defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur, led by United’s former manager Jose Mourinho, in their last Premier League outing at Old Trafford.

Mourinho ran down the touchline towards Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, gave a sympathetic pat on the back of the Norwegian, tapped his head twice or maybe thrice in utter amusement, and starred at the camera lenses with a look of eternal relaxation. It was as if the Portuguese gaffer had been waiting for the moment to appear for ages.

Old Trafford had no crowd to endure the disastrous performance, because of the ongoing pandemic. It was another instance of a lethargic, wicked and lifeless performance from this group of Manchester United players.

The situation was so nasty that the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to take two men off the pitch right at the midway point of the game. One of them was Bruno Fernandes, the impact-maker at the club ever since joining them from Sporting C.P. for a transfer fee around £60 million.

Earlier this week, he was accused of losing his faith at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and having a feud with the manager at the half-time of the chaotic 6-1 home defeat:

However, following Portugal’s 3-0 victory over Sweden, the midfield maestro had something different to say. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, he said:

"“There’s been a lot of speculation about that.“First it was a discussion with team-mates, as it did not stick, it was a discussion with only one team-mate (Victor Lindelof), as it did not stick now, it is the discussion with Solskjaer.“I believe it is a way to destabilise the group. What was said is in no way true.“I was replaced at half-time, it is true, by technical option. The coach told me that the game was almost over and that we would have a lot of games ahead of us. Got it. I was not satisfied but said nothing that could harm the group.”"

He continued:

"“At the end of the game, the coach sent me a message to wish the team good luck and if I wanted to give a word of support to the team. We spoke at the end by message and I just have to be grateful to the coach who bet on me, his tactics are perfect for me.“Do not use my name, my colleagues or the coach to make trouble at Manchester United. The atmosphere is good and the team is ready to give an answer in the next game.”"

With Fernandes being the focal point of the widespread rumours explaining the whole matter, there shouldn’t be any doubt over the circumstances at Manchester United anymore.

The Red Devils will play their next Premier League game against Newcastle United this Saturday at St James’ Park.
