Manchester United stars are disappointed by club’s decision
Reports claim that a number of Manchester United players have been left disappointed by the club’s treatment of the popular figure at Old Trafford.
It is true that it is very hard to hold down a place at a club like Manchester United where they are are always expected to win trophies. But even then, it is hard not to feel that Sergio Romero deserves more chances than he has been given during his time at Old Trafford.
When called upon, the Argentine goalkeeper has always done his best and there was a case for him to be made the starter when David De Gea suffered through terrible form at the end of the season.
Instead, Solskjaer decided to drop Romero in favour of the Spaniard in the semi-finals of both the FA Cup and the Europa League, two competitions that he had been a regular in up until that point. United ended up losing both ties.
Naturally, Romero has been looking at other options as it has become clear that opportunities are gonna be even more limited this season with the return of Dean Henderson from his impressive loan spell at Sheffield United.

An offer from Everton was even on the table but the Red Devils decided to push it back to keep hold of the Argentine. And then, he was not even named in the 25-man Champions League squad. According to ESPN, this has left a number of Manchester United players disappointed at the treatment being dealt out to their teammate.
And to be very honest, the club should have let Romero go. By this point of time, it is very clear that he will get very few, if any opportunities this season with the likes of De Gea and Henderson ahead of him in the pecking order.
At 33 years of age, Romero would know that he probably has only one more big move left in his career. And the longer the club hold on to him, the lesser the chances become of him getting that move.
